Dr. Timothy Vollmer is a compassionate, community-focused physician dedicated to improving access to high-quality pain care and bringing the latest technological advances in pain medicine to the region he proudly serves. Born and residing in Saint Marys, Pennsylvania, Dr. Vollmer’s deep roots in the community continue to guide his mission and commitment to local patients.

His primary focus is delivering the highest level of care with the goals of reducing pain and improving patients’ functional abilities and overall quality of life. He is committed to developing and expanding a comprehensive, multidisciplinary pain medicine program designed to provide patient-centered, individualized, and all-encompassing care for decades to come.

Dr. Vollmer’s medical journey began humbly, working summer breaks as a janitor and anesthesia technician at his local hospital during college. He graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Biochemistry from Allegheny College before earning his medical degree at LECOM-Erie, where he graduated in the top 7% of his class. He then completed his internship and residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Florida, training in a nationally ranked top-10 program.

During residency, Dr. Vollmer actively engaged in clinical research, publishing numerous peer-reviewed articles, presenting original research at national and international conferences, and co-authoring textbook chapters. He was recognized by his peers with the “Hardest Worker” and “Best Team Player” awards and served as Chief of Recruitment. He went on to complete a fellowship in Multidisciplinary Pain Medicine at the University of Florida.

Following his training, Dr. Vollmer returned home to fulfill his lifelong goal of establishing a practice that improves access to advanced pain care throughout central and northwestern Pennsylvania. He remains academically active through involvement in state and national professional organizations, including the Pennsylvania Pain Society, North American Neuromodulation Society, American Academy of Pain Medicine, and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. He has a special interest in expanding comprehensive, multidisciplinary pain care in rural communities across Pennsylvania.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Vollmer enjoys spending time with his growing family, exploring the outdoors, fishing, experiencing the Pennsylvania wilds, and engaging in philanthropy and volunteer efforts throughout the north central Pennsylvania region.
