MEET DR. TIMOTHY VOLLMER

Dr. Timothy Vollmer is an extremely compassionate local physician focused on improving access to pain care and bringing the latest technological advances in pain medicine to the community of which he serves. Born and residing in Saint Marys Pennsylvania, Dr. Vollmer’s heart remains integrated into the local area that he calls home. Overall, his focus remains on providing the highest level of possible care with the goals of decreasing pain while achieving improvements in patient’s functional abilities. He strives to develop and expand a multidisciplinary pain medicine program to serve as a patient centric, individualized, and all-encompassing clinic for decades to come.

Doctor Vollmer’s medical education started with a summer job position as a janitor and  anesthesia tech at his local hospital during his college summer breaks. After completing undergraduate studies and graduating with manga cum laude honors in Biochemistry at Allegheny College, he later graduated in the top 7% of his medical school class at LECOM-Erie Campus. His educational career then led him to the University of Florida where he completed his internship and residency at a nationally ranked top-10 residency in Anesthesiology. Throughout his years as an anesthesiology resident he engaged in clinical research, published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, presented original research at national and international meetings, and co-authored several textbook chapters. He was named ‘hardest worker’, and earned ‘best Team-player’ award as well as being named Chief of Recruitment during his residency. He ultimately completed fellowship of Multidisciplinary Pain Medicine at the University of Florida, and has since moved back home to achieve his lifelong goal of establishing practice to improve pain care in central to northwest Pennsylvania which are closest to his heart. Academically, he remains active with state and national pain societies such as the Pennsylvania Pain Society, North American Neuromodulation Society, American Academy of Pain Medicine, and American Society of Interventional Pain Medicine, with a special interest in expanding multidisciplinary pain care into rural Pennsylvania.

In his free time, Dr. Vollmer enjoys spending time with his growing family, the outdoors, fishing, exploring the PA wilds, and philanthropy and volunteer work in the local north central Pennsylvania community.
